About
The Last Chancers meet weekly on Tuesdays evenings from 7-9:30 pm in the East Helena United Methodist Church. In addition, public performances are given on request. These include singing in nursing homes and hospitals and singing the National Anthem at sporting events or patriotic gatherings. Also, we perform for fraternal and service clubs and other private clubs and organizations. During the summer we sing at members churches when their choirs are on vacation.

Membership Qualifications

  • Must be male
  • Must be able to sing
  • Must be of good character
  • In addition, to sing in public, members must know the words, music and choreography to every song to be performed and have the prescribed uniform.


Organization
The Last Chancers are a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, an international singing organization with over 700 chapters in the US, Canada and affiliates around the world. In North America, the chapters are grouped into 16 districts. The Helena chapter is in the Evergreen District, which includes most of Montana, Idaho, Alberta, British Columbia, Alaska, Oregon and Washington.

Financial
To pay for music, uniforms, and music directors and coaching, annual dues are $131, distributed among the International, District and local chapter.
